Video Mixcut user guide
Turn existing footage in your video library into a complete, script-led video. This guide takes you through preparing footage, writing a script, choosing picture and sound settings, reviewing shots, generating a video, and downloading the result.
01 / Meet Video Mixcut
Video Mixcut selects existing shots from your video library and assembles them according to your script. Use product footage, event recordings, or everyday clips to make social videos, explainers, and stories. Footage that closely matches your script makes it easier to achieve the result you want.

To create new scenes or characters from text, use AI Story. For a single AI shot or an animated image, use Single-scene AI Clips. Video Mixcut uses footage that already exists in your library.
02 / Make your first video
- Sign in, open Video Library, and upload videos related to your subject. Wait for processing and confirm that extracted shots are available.
- Choose Mixcuts under AI MIXCUT in the sidebar, then Create New Mixcut. You can also open the creation page directly.
- Choose Social video, a target duration of 30 seconds, your target language, and an aspect ratio. For your first video, you can keep the other defaults.
- Choose Start with an idea, describe the subject, audience, mood, and message, then click Generate Script with AI. If you already have a script, choose Use my script, paste it, and click Review script.
- In Step 2: Review and generate video, check the text and segments. Click Preview clip matches, play each shot, and choose an alternative when needed.
- Click Generate Mixcut Video. After submission, the project detail page opens. Wait for completion, play the result, then click Download Video.
Have an account, usable footage, and enough credits before generating. Charges depend on the current account and page information; voice previews may also use credits. Processing time varies with duration, audio options, and the queue.
03 / Prepare footage
- Open Video Library and use the upload control to choose a local video. Follow the file type and size limits shown in the upload dialog.
- Wait for upload and video processing to finish. Open the video details and check for playable shots. An upload record alone does not mean the shots are ready.
- Organize footage into folders by project or subject. Prepare varied, clear shots: wide views, close-ups, actions, and results.
- For team footage, confirm you belong to the team and that members have shared the videos. Enable Use team videos on the creation page to include accessible shared footage in matching.
For a coffee video, prepare footage of beans, grinding, pouring water, and a coffee cup, then describe those visuals in the script. If the script needs a scene absent from the library, add suitable footage or revise the script to work with what you have.
Shot detection and AI tagging are separate steps. First check that shots have been extracted. If you need more information for matching, run AI tagging from Video Library. Folders and script templates do not replace video footage.
04 / Video settings
Use Project setup in Step 1: Configure your video to choose the overall format. Select an aspect ratio that suits where you will publish the video.

These are the initial values for a blank project. Restored local drafts use their saved settings. If you change duration, type, or related settings after reviewing the script, check the segments and clip matches again.
05 / Write or import a script
Option A: Start with an idea
- Choose Start with an idea in Script setup.
- In Video idea, describe your subject, audience, style, key message, and available footage. Specific descriptions make the result easier to review.
- To reuse a structure, open Use script template and choose an accessible personal or team template. Adapt it to this product or subject. Templates are optional.
- Click Generate Script with AI and wait for Step 2. Check facts, tone, and visual requirements in each segment, then make changes in Edit script (optional) if needed.
Option B: Use my script
- Choose Use my script and paste the full text, or sign in and click Upload script to import TXT, PDF, or DOCX.
- Check the extracted text for missing content, garbled characters, or unwanted headers and footers. The limit is 5 MiB per file and 200,000 extracted characters. If a PDF has no extractable text, use TXT or paste selectable text.
- Click Review script. The system preserves your text and divides it into timed segments. This does not translate the script into another language.
- Check that the amount of text fits the target duration. Reduce a long document to the content needed for this video before matching clips and generating voiceover.
Script Library is optional. You can describe an idea or paste a script without a template. To extract a reusable structure from a reference video, analyze it in Script Library.
06 / Voice, music, and text
Open Advanced options to adjust sound and visuals. New projects enable AI voiceover, background music, and text overlays by default, with voice volume at 100% and background volume at 30%.

For a video without narration, choose No voice and decide separately whether to keep background music. No voice controls AI narration; it is not a mute-all switch. Check the actual audio after generation.
07 / Review the script and clip matches
Step 2 shows the mixcut script, segment count, and estimated duration. Finalize the text, then review the shots for each segment. Previewing clip matches is optional but recommended for your first video.
- Read the mixcut script and make corrections in Edit script (optional). Editing changes the segmentation; resolve validation messages below the input first.
- Click Preview clip matches. Wait for candidate clips, confidence levels, and explanations for each scene.
- Play every clip and check that the subject, action, and orientation fit the script. Strong match, Possible match, and Review suggested are guidance, not a substitute for your review.
- Choose an alternative from the clip dropdown if needed. A manual change automatically selects Keep this clip when rematching; you can also check or uncheck it yourself.
- Keep the clips you like, then click Rematch unlocked clips to adjust the others.
- Confirm the text, shots, and audio, then click Generate Mixcut Video. The button is temporarily unavailable during matching or when the script has validation errors.
Changing the script, duration, voiceover switch, text overlay switch, video type, or team footage scope clears the previous matches and locks. Preview again. Also re-preview before submitting if the match plan has expired or the footage has changed.
08 / Generate, preview, and download
- Click Generate Mixcut Video and wait for submission. On success, the project detail page opens. Keep its address so you can return later.
- The detail page updates processing status. A task may go through shot matching, voiceover, music, and video composition. Disabled audio options may skip their stages.
- When ready, play Video Preview and check the opening, ending, cropping, pronunciation, music level, text overlays, and pacing.
- Click Download Video at the top right. The button opens the video file. If the browser plays it directly, use the player's download control or the browser's Save as command.
- Open Generated Video Library to view outputs, organize folders, and download. You can also reopen the source project from the Mixcuts list.
To track a generated video after publishing, download it from Generated Video Library or its source project, then upload it to Clip Management. Choose the version you actually publish.

Once submission succeeds, you can return through the project list later. A long wait alone does not mean failure: refresh the list or check the detail page first. Unsubmitted content is still only a draft in this browser.
09 / Drafts and project management
- Local drafts: The creation page shows the save time and can restore your draft when you return. Drafts stay in this browser and do not automatically sync to other devices. Clearing site data may remove them.
- Before and after sign-in: If asked to restore a guest draft after signing in, decide whether to continue it. Review the restored settings before generating.
- Reference audio: Unsaved reference audio files are not stored in local drafts. Save the voice for later use or upload the file again when you return.
- Starting over: Copy any text you need before Discard draft or Reset. Check that restored content belongs to the project you intend to make.
- Refresh and delete: Refresh retrieves the latest status. Deleting a project requires confirmation and cannot be undone; save any finished videos you need first.
10 / Example: a 30-second coffee video
Follow this example after preparing shots of coffee beans, grinding, pour-over brewing, and a cup in Video Library. Confirm that the shots have finished processing.

An example to copy into Video idea
Make a 30-second morning pour-over coffee video for office workers learning to brew at home. Keep the tone warm and light. The library has close-ups of beans, grinding, pouring water into a dripper, and a finished cup. Open with the aroma of coffee, then show preparation, brewing, and the result. End with “Leave a little time for yourself this morning.” Use brief, natural English narration with one main point per segment. Describe visuals that use this existing footage.
If you already know the wording you want, choose Use my script, paste the text below, and click Review script:
Wake up to a cup of pour-over coffee. Choose your favorite beans and grind them fresh. Pour slowly as steam rises from the dripper. Fill your cup and leave a little time for yourself this morning.
In Step 2, review the estimated duration and segments, then preview the matches. Check that the grinding and pouring shots fit the narration. Lock your preferred clips and generate. The four lines above organize the content; use the page's result for actual segmentation and timing.
Before delivery
The coffee stays in frame; shots match narration; music does not overpower speech; text is clear and does not cover the subject; the opening and ending are complete; the downloaded file plays correctly.
11 / Troubleshooting

| Script upload fails or produces no text | Sign in and use TXT, PDF, or DOCX up to 5 MiB with at most 200,000 extracted characters. For a PDF without extractable text, use TXT or paste text directly. |
| The script stays in another language | Target language does not translate imported scripts. Prepare the text in the desired language before reviewing segments. |
| Voice unavailable after changing language | Refresh the voice list and select a voice compatible with the current language and model. Check the reference audio, reference text, and required fields. |

If the issue persists, contact support with the project URL or task ID, occurrence time, selected duration and language, exact error, and steps to reproduce it.
